The sheep farming business is led by Jacob Ratsoeu. He is an upcoming Dorper stud sheep farmer who believes that farmers should be skilled enough, always be alert and learn of new opportunities that can be used to make the farming business successful. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dorper sheep breeding is the heart of the business model. The love of sheep stems from Jacob\u2019s exposure from a tender age, watching sheep that his late father, Daniel Ratsoeu, owned. Beyond the passion Jacob has the knowledge and skill a successful farmer needs. Sheep farming is a lifestyle to Jacob with over 20 years of experience. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The trading name for the business is JR Dorpers. The business is a registered member to the provincial club. JR Dorpers is growing gradually leaving no room for failure. The focus is generally more on the quality of sheep heads .The flock is growing steady with time under the breed standards and procedures. This allows the business to get the breeding formula that works for it right.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I believe that I am capable of achieving everything I put my mind to. I have learned and grown as a person, due to my ambition, paying attention to detail and taking pride in what I do. I\u2019m highly confident, enthusiastic and analytical thinker searching for possible alternative solutions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There are different types of sheep breeds is South Africa but I decided to go for Dorper sheep. It is a true South African success, based on the outstanding progress it has made. What I love about farming is the connection to the land, animals and nature. It is more of a calling than business to me. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I personally believe that success does not happen overnight and cannot be bought. I had set my goals, plan my path to reach my goal and lived my plan. Breeding is science, challenge and hard work and once it\u2019s done correctly it now looks like Art. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been running the operations for over 20 years now. I always ask myself that did I do everything possible to make sure sheep are happy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
